It’s that time of the year again when I am thinking about sending packages to our troops for Christmas. Our Project called HOHOHO( Helping Our Heroes On Holidays Overseas) would like to send at least a hundred packages or more this year. The cost for postage for each package is $13.65 and then by the time supplies go into each package we are looking at around another $20 depending what goes into the package. We are looking at $3,365 to send Christmas packages. We have sent over 4,100 packages since 2005. I rely on donations for the postage and supplies from the public. We put 15 Christmas cards in each package so the soldier can send them back to the States for family and friends so we need roughly 1,000-1,500 cards and Christmas candy bags in each one also, so we need lots of hard and soft candy. I would also like to challenge schools, grades 1-12 to write letters or color pictures for the troops. I put more than one letter or coloring page in each package, so we could use lots of these.
